NYC Hires Donna East To Teach Inter-City Kids Comedy
The New York City Parks and Recreation Department Afterschool Programs has hired comedienne Donna East as a comedy consultant. She will be teaching her workshop called "Just Kiddin' Around." Donna is the creator and brainchild behind the workshop. The program pilot will take place at the J. Hood Wright Center in Manhattan.
"Just Kiddin' Around" comedy workshop is a LITERACY-PROMOTING workshop teaching children how to write and perform comedy (including drama, sketch, storytelling and special guests). JKA is will also build self-confidence and public speaking skills. JKA plans to culminate at a NYC comedy club with participating child comics and a clean headlining comedian! The NYC Parks and Donna are also discussing a kids joke book possibility.
